Kenneth has started now the Wiki…. and my first thoughts are:
- is the wiki-name ( dummies) not a wrong one? Should we have another url-name?
- is the "open" status a good one ( I think yes… as long as not too much spammers are coming)?
- is the handbook really too much and too deep in the technical codings?
- What are the main interests of a newcomer to wikidot?
- Need I really an account? ( for reading, writing as a guest)
- Will Wikidot sent me a lot of ad's and news if I have one?
- What are the "good" standard setups for my account dashboard ?
- How is "private policy" securing my personal data?
- Do I really need to read the Terms of Sevice"?
- OK, I have an account and now? How to find and edit a page?
- I am invited to a wiki to be a member - what are my permissions now?
- Can I use the Private messaging system in my account?
- The syntax page is a horror - never ending - what do I really need?
- I need a real Wiki-site - what is the best theme and minimum to start?
- What is the minimum to know about the license I have to put and use on my wiki?
- The status Open, Closed, Private is the first question on my new wiki setup ?
- What are the prebuild pages on a new wiki?
- The menues I need to change are where?
- What are the categories?
- Page Options Buttons and the permissions for them?
- What is the difference between forum and per page discussions/comments?
- How can I stop the AD's on my pages?
- What does "watching" mean?
- Pro account - What does pro light bring me?
- Images/Videos on my Pages - where to store and how to insert?
and
- What are the legal requironments for such a book?

Hello! :)
We may need to be careful about using the "Dummies" name due to copyright reasons. How about "Wikidot for Wikidiots"? <tongue in cheek>
All joking aside, I really like the idea of trying to put together a well organized reference for getting started with Wikidot. I would propose we set up a page to hold an outline for our book in "Dummies" fashion.
Introduction
Chapter 1: What Is Wikidot?
Chapter 2: Getting Started
And so on…
If we can collectively build a good starting outline, we can start to fill content based on that. I think it would be interesting to poll the community to answer some of Helmuti's questions. I'd like to know the answer to these questions:
I think the answers could serve as a tool to help design an outline that flows down a path that most users would want to follow as they learn to use Wikidot in all its glory.

I think if we look at the Wikis for Dummies book, we can get some inspiration on how to structure this guide.

Thanks Kenneth for the book link! It is amazing to read from my old tools we tried so many years ago…. :)

Also, I changed the theme to the widened version for a better fit of the hammer template.
