Hello! :)
We may need to be careful about using the "Dummies" name due to copyright reasons. How about "Wikidot for Wikidiots"? <tongue in cheek>
All joking aside, I really like the idea of trying to put together a well organized reference for getting started with Wikidot. I would propose we set up a page to hold an outline for our book in "Dummies" fashion.
Introduction
Chapter 1: What Is Wikidot?
Chapter 2: Getting Started
And so on…
If we can collectively build a good starting outline, we can start to fill content based on that. I think it would be interesting to poll the community to answer some of Helmuti's questions. I'd like to know the answer to these questions:
- What were you looking for or looking to accomplish when you found Wikidot?
- Why did you decide to create an account and start to build your site(s)?
- What frustrated you or was the hardest thing to learn when you first started?
- What sources of information did/do you rely on most?
I think the answers could serve as a tool to help design an outline that flows down a path that most users would want to follow as they learn to use Wikidot in all its glory.
